Sorry NO pets

Pets are not allowed in the National Park, but are allowed in Halls Gap and on Vic Roads. As we have a lot of roaming wildlife in and around the park we have decided to not allow pets in our park.

Parents should supervise young children at the playground.

Although we are unable to physically close the playground, out of respect for fellow campers we ask parents to let their kids know that the playground closes at 9pm or dusk, whichever comes first. Avoiding the playground all together until 7am.

Our pools hours are seasonal, enquire at reception.

"Senior only" swim hours are offered in the standard season. Please check with reception for details.

If the pools are still covered, please come and see us in the office, and we will open the pools for you!

There is no glass or alcohol in the pool area.

Only one pool is open during winter, so we can keep the pool nice and toasty warm. Although we work really hard to keep it warm in winter, pool temperature cannot be guaranteed.

Only in-house guests and guests staying at our sister property Grampians Getaway are welcome to use the pools.

Swim nappies* are to be worn by young children who are accident-prone. Better to be safe than sorry! *Available at reception.

Little heads up: The pools can be very crowded during high and peak periods. Best to check with reception if certain times are quieter than others. Alternatively, head out to one of the local swimming spots; our friendly reception staff will be more than happy to guide you in the right direction. Alternatively, check out Grampians Rangers!

  2. Guests staying during peak periods have first right to re-book, for the same period the year after.
  3. At any stage can we review those these rules if we think they are not supporting our mission to give everybody a fair chance.

In advance we apologise that we not always can accommodate your specific request, we hope you understand!

What is the difference between Assistance Dogs and Emotional Support Dogs?

In short: the law!

Under the Disability Discrimination Act (1992), assistance Dogs are medical aids, whereas Emotional Support Dogs are considered pets. There is no set standard or accreditation process to qualify an Emotional Support Dog. They do not have public access rights and are not protected by disability anti-discrimination laws if they and their owner are refused entry to a venue.

Assistant dogs owners are required to carry evidence that the dog is an assistance dog. Types of evidence accepted are:

Identification card issued for the animal by an accredited assistance dog training provider.

A letter from the visitor’s medical practitioner stating that it is an assistance dog and what its purpose is.

A state or territory government-issued public transport assistance animal pass.

In our park, your assistance dog is welcome but so our staff and guests can identify it easily, we ask that it wears a jacket at all times and is kept on lead when outside.

Smoking is forbidden in our cabins/glamping.

If evidence of smoking in the cabins/glamping is found upon departure (cigarette buds, smell), we reserve the right to charge $100 extra cleaning fee to your credit card.

If you are smoking outside, please dispose of your buds responsibly.

The safety of our guests is our number one priority.

Vehicles must not exceed walking pace, so no faster than 10km/h , please abide by the signed speed restrictions in the park.

Standard season is any time of year outside of school holidays and peak weekends. You can fin our period calendar here

Full payment for standard season bookings is due 72h before arrival. A friendly reminder will be sent to you via text message 14 days before your arrival.

If a cancellation occurs after arrival or within 14 days of arrival for Standard season bookings, there will be no refund.

All guests must abide by park rules, guidelines, signage and reasonable requests from park staff at all times.

Any breach of our current terms and conditions may affect your booking/stay.

If you booked through a 3rd party channel (booking.com, travel agents, etc.), your booking is subject to their terms and conditions.

Any monies or other valuables, goods or vehicles that belong to you or your party, or which you or your party bring in or on to the park (including any car park facilities) remain your responsibility and we are not responsible for their safekeeping.

Any lost of found item will be kept at reception for a duration of 6 weeks. If the owner can be identified, we will get in contact and pick up or postage can be arranged (at a fee).

If you find an item around the park that isn’t yours, feel free to bring it up to reception so we can try and return it to its owner.

Video Surveillance is in operation in the communal areas of the park, this is to protect our staff, guests and property.

Our night manager on duty also wears a body camera to record interactions with guests when on evening patrol.

Video surveillance is in place in the following location of the park:

Camp lounge, camp deck, outside of camp facilities, playground, reception, swimming pool, entrance and exits of staff areas.

No recordings are taking place of campsites, units, or bathroom areas except for the entrance and exits of these areas.

Vouchers cannot be used to pay for deposits.

Vouchers/Gift Cards cannot be redeemed for cash.

Vouchers/Gift Cards can only be used on the type of accommodation as specified, if specified, subject to availability.

Digital Gift Cards/Vouchers must be used predominantly for accommodation and a minimal remaining balance may be used on shop purchases.

The expiry date on the voucher/gift card is not negotiable. Vouchers will be discarded from our system after expiry.

One of the highlights of staying at Halls Gap Lakeside Tourist Park is the abundance of Australian wildlife.

Watching the kangaroos is engaging. You can stare at them hour after hour and not get bored…

The kangaroos roam freely through the park. To enable campers and kangaroos to share the same space in harmony, it is vital that we leave the kangaroos alone, after all, they are wild animals. They are big and strong, and their behaviour can be unpredictable.

Besides that, kangaroos are designed to eat large amounts of low protein roughage such as native grasses. Human food is a poor substitute and can damage their health as well as making them dependent on visitors for their food.

So please assist us and the National Park authorities to keep the kangaroos wild! If we respect them and their natural behaviours, there is more chance they will respect us and our behaviour! By nature, kangaroos are not aggressive, do not approach and they will not approach you!

Same for our cheeky cocky residents! They will get into anything so if you do not wish to have them rummage through your campsite, keep all food contained and out of their reach.
