Are we allowed to book more than 1 night?

Yes, in fact we have a minimum stay of 2 nights and for long weekends 3 nights or more. Just check with us if you are not clear.

Are we allowed to have camp fires?

Yes, you can have a campfire at your site or cabin. We do not allow guests to bring their own firedrum, but you can hire one of our drums for $10 for the duration of your stay.

Are you doing your stay 4, pay 2 deal this year?

We sure are! That deal applies from 1 May to 30 August, midweek only and excluding school holidays. We only missed 1 month so there is still plenty of time to take advantage of this deal!

Are you open for the July school holidays

Yes, you are all welcome! Please bear in mind that the communual showers in caravan parks are not allowed to open just yet. Daniel Andrews will make new announcements on 22 June, hopefully further easing restrictions. FINGERS CROSSED!

Can I go camping in Victoria?

Yes you can go camping but communal areas like shared bathrooms, kitchens and BBQ areas will not be accessible. You are thus required to have your own toilet, shower and kitchen facilities.

Can I stay at Halls Gap Lakeside Tourist Park?

Yes, from 1st June 2020 you can stay at Halls Gap Lakeside, provided you stay in one of our self-contained accommodation options, or you can stay in your own RV (caravan or motorhome) as long as it has a working toilet, shower and kitchen facilities. There will be no access to communal areas like bathrooms and kitchen. You will still have access to water and electricity.

Can we come glamping?

Yes, all glamping with bathroom facilities are open for bookings (Safari tents). This excludes the bell tents, the POD and Queen Maxima.

Can we use the toilets, not the showers, because I don’t like doing number twos in my van.

On 28 May 2020, 3.30 pm, VicParks announced that toilets are allowed to be open. We strongly encourage guests to use their own toilet facilities to minimise risk of the spread of COVID-19.

Do I have to do anything specific when I stay at Halls Gap Lakeside whilst restrictions are in place?

Please remain vigilant and adhere to the social distancing, personal hygiene and surface cleanliness practices now in place. We will send you our guidelines prior to arrival.

Do we have the right to re-book our site or cabin for the June long weekend next year?

If you originally had a booking for this year’s June long weekend that was cancelled and transferred to next year, you have first right to re-book for 2021, even if you are unable to attend this year due to restrictions. If you made a new booking for this year, your cabin or site may not be available for next year.

Have all the hiking/walking trails in the Grampians National Park re opened?

Yes, all trails are open, but social distancing rules still apply.

I have a self sufficient camper trailer with toilet and shower, can I come to stay with you?

Yes you can! Allthough there seem to have been some confusion, campertrailers and tents are most welcome, with or without toilet and shower. Please be aware that that none of the common facilities are to open except from toilets, pool and playground (with density measures in place). This means you wont be able to have a shower at this stage, but hopefully, since everybody who stayed during the Queens Birthday Long Weekend behaved so well, restrictions will further ease on announcement 22 June. Fingers crossed!

If I am travelling domestically do I need to go into quarantine on return to Victoria?

No. There is no requirement in Victoria to quarantine after travelling domestically.

Is there a restriction on how far you can travel?

There is no restriction on the distance you can travel in Victoria.

Is there a time limit on how long I can stay?

Our usual minimal night rules apply. As we are a tourist park, we cannot allow stays longer than 28 days.

We are planning to come in a group, I have my own tent and my mum and dad have a fully self contained caravan. Can I use their facilities?

No problem, you do know though that our toliets are open?

We would like to go away with friends, we have a self-contained caravan, but they don’t. Would our friends be allowed to stay in their van but use our facilities?

Daniel Andrews used 3 key words in his speech on 24th May; density, distancing and hygiene. He also mentioned that we should use common sense. Therefore, we believe the answer is no, as it would not be in line with social distancing rules and government recommendations. After all, it remains a priority to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

What constitutes a communal space?

An area that is shared between groups and is required in the operation of the accommodation. Accommodation which requires the use of communal areas, like shared bathrooms and kitchens, remains subject to current restrictions, except from toilets which will open according to advise from VicParks on 28 May 2020. We highly encourage you to use your own toilets were possible to minimise chances of the spread of COVID-19. When will you be opening the park and take bookings?

Will you playground and trampolines be open?

At this stage YES! Daniel Andrews announced all public pools and playgrounds can re-open, (subject to restrictions). If we receive notification that we do not fall in this category we will inform our guests.

Will your camp kitchen be open?

No, none of the shared facilities will be open according to Government instructions just toilets, pool and playground.

Will your outdoor woodfire heated pools be open?

YES! Daniel Andrews announced on 28 May that toilets, pools and playgrounds in caravan parks are allowed to open (subject to restrictions). There will be a limit of people allowed in the pool (8). We will send out a link for guests staying during weekends to be able to secure a spot. Due to the fact that midweek in winter is usually rather quiet, we let guests manage pool times themselves.

From 11.59pm on Wednesday 8 July 2021, if you normally live in the Melbourne Metropolitan area or Mitchell Shire but are on holiday elsewhere, you can continue that holiday. However, if you live in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchel Shire you must not extend your holiday beyond the original booking date.

From 11.59pm on Wednesday 8 July 2021, if you live in the Melbourne Metropolitan area or Mitchell Shire you are required to stay at home except for the four reasons (shopping for food or essential items, care or compassionate reasons, exercise or outdoor recreation, work or study if you can’t do it from home)and will not be permitted to leave home for the purposes of a holiday.

No. The return to Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions means people in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire will have to cancel travel bookings, unless they are included in the four reasons that you can leave home.
